Camp Activities
Our teachers will provide creative age-appropriate activities in a loving, Christian environment. Camp Riverbend will be full of nature and discovery activities which will encourage higher thinking and problem solving while promoting positive social interactions in a safe, caring environment.
Activities will include indoor center play, outdoor play and recreation on three different outdoor play areas, process art activities, story time, creative movement and music, which will include simple tumbling, imaginative play, obstacle courses, non-competitive games, songs, body movement and rhythm instruments. Special events include special visitors such as Sportball or a petting zoo, as well as foam and splash days as well as a pizza and popsicle party at the end of each session.
Children in the 12-17 month age group will nap during the camp day, if needed. Children over the age of 18 months will not nap during Camp Riverbend. We will send them home tired! If your toddler usually takes a nap earlier than 1:30, you may choose to pick up early. There are no discounts for late drop offs, early pickups or absences, whether planned or unplanned.

Science Camp
Children CURRENTLY attending elementary school will be a part of our Science Camp. Science camp is part of Camp Riverbend, and the only difference is the focus of the curriculum. Our school-aged children will be introduced to a wide variety of experiments and wonders. From glow in the dark discoveries to Mentos geysers to quicksand, your child is sure to learn something new this summer. Your future engineer, scientist or inventor will explore force, load, motion and distance with simple machines. There are design challenges and competitions and lots of interactive games and activities. Although Science Camp is designed for children in Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade, we welcome older children who have attended our camp before to enroll, if space permits. They can help lead the experiments!
CAMP STAFF & Employment Opportunities
In our youngest classrooms, there will be a lead teacher and an adult aide. Whenever possible, we will choose staff who work in our program during our school year program or have experience working in a licensed facility or teach Elementary school.
During our camp program, we sometimes hire teenage aides to assist the lead teachers in our older classrooms. Teenagers are never left unattended with the children but are there to help with classroom activities and retrieve art and resource supplies. The campers really enjoy having a "big kid" in their classroom. Priority in hiring will be given to aides who can work both sessions of the camp program. Adult floating aides will be available to those classes with teen aged aides to help with potty and provide extra supervision.
